Description
Over the last 50 years, the Valley Railroad has grown from a single, three-car train operation to one that runs three simultaneous steam train consists at Christmas time; from a few thousand patrons a year, to nearly 200,000! That kind of growth comes with a lot change. And over the years, Max Miller has documented all of it. With enough photos, information and memorabilia to fill several volumes, in 2017, in advance of the railroad’s golden anniversary, Max simply released a 160-page history of the railroad, Along the Valley Line. For this anniversary calendar, we dove into Max’s extensive collection to find photographs from five decades ago, and included some interesting, and sometimes humorous, stories from Max with each pictures. A special thanks to Howard Pincus who provided color scans for this calendar of several of his black and whites in Max’s collection.
